At school the days start off with fluency. They read words as fast as they can. There are pairs of 2 kids and they have a piece of paper in front of them , on the paper are a lot of words. the children have to ready these word as fast as they can but they have to do it together. The kids take turns into reading a word. They get one minute to get as far as they can possibly go.
There is this daily activity called guess the word, when noone knows the word everybody becomes hyperactive and tell mr. Oshiro that they know the word but when they are asked if they know they ‘change minds’. They can wake every person in the neighborhood with their noise. It’s a lot of fun to see how the children react to such a small game.
Mr. Oshiro (the teacher), has to shush the whole class at least 5 times every 5 minutes.
